AFK Kunststoffverarbeitung awarded the “Grand Prize for Medium-Sized Enterprises”.

Germany's most important business prize

September 12, 2015 will be a very special date in the company's history for AFK Kunststoffprocessing. On that day, owner and managing director Andreas Franke was presented with the “Grand Prize for Medium-sized Businesses” from the Oskar Patzelt Foundation - “Germany's most important business prize” (Welt am Sonntag) from the hands of Ms. Tröger.

At a big gala in Düsseldorf, the winners from among the previously nominated companies were honored under the eyes of the who's who of German business. The value of this award is particularly high due to the selection process, as it is a third-party nomination from business. Potential candidates for a prize are first suggested, then evaluated by an independent commission and are then included on the jury or nominee list. In 2015 there were over 5,000 companies. The jury will then select the winners and finalists from this group.

The nominated companies must perform outstandingly in five competition criteria in order to qualify:

• Overall development of the company
• Creation and securing of jobs and training positions
• Modernization and innovation
• Commitment in the respective region
• Service and customer proximity, marketing

The fact that AFK Plastics Processing has been nominated five times since 2011 by its partners, ONI-Wärmetrafo GmbH and Amazonas Chocolate Deutschland, and was named a finalist among the top 5 in 2012 speaks volumes about the consistency in fulfilling the criteria and the Innovative power a clear language.

With the awarding of the "Grand Prize", the prospering company AFK is now receiving much more public recognition this year. “I am overjoyed about this award, which I hold in my hand on behalf of all of our employees,” says Andreas Franke. “We have already achieved a lot as a team and together with our business partners.
